Is your business located in the countryside? Some Counties run separate watch schemes for horse owners, farmers, businesses and homeowners. In Cambridgeshire, Countryside Watch has been set up to incorporate all of these groups into one scheme, not just because it is more cost effective for the members but more importantly it encourages the whole rural community to look out for each other. This way we never miss a vital piece of information just because we don't all share the same business type or recreational pursuit. Whatever your rural business type criminals can view our countryside as easy pickings. Often we find that thieves are opportunists who drive around looking for a soft target. Our members either report or keep notes of suspicious vehicles and people; then react when a voice mail message is received. The more eyes and ears we have the greater our chances of success. |
